Ballet Inspired Manicure (Entry to Jen's Nail Files Contest)

Hey loves!
This post is dedicated to a manicure I did as an entry to Jen's Nail Files contest on Facebook. The twist to this contest was to submit the manicure on our off hand; meaning, right handed people submit a picture of their right hand, left handed people submit a picture of their left hand. I had to take time to do my right hand and for me, it came out okay. Then, righty does not know how to pose and I had a hard time getting an acceptable shot. So, here is the picture I submitted to the contest:
I got inspired by ballerinas, silhouettes and lace... Here are the polishes I used as well as photos of my left hand. If you are interested, this contest is open until 4/15, the link is above :)

Week 15: Easter Manicure

Happy Easter!
I hope you guys are enjoying your Easter Sunday. For this manicure, I was not sure if I wanted to do bunnies or little chicks. I could have sworn I had a stamp plate that had a chick, but I did not. I did a bunny instead, I am pleased to say I love it!
As a base I used 2 coats of a pink jelly polish by Freshcover (the label fell off) and a coat of Forget Now by Sinful Colors. The flowers and bunny were done with acrylic paint and a dotting tool.
I hope you enjoy!

Carol

Week 6: Half-Moon Manicure

This is my second attempt to a half-moon mani. I was not pleased with the first one I published, but this one is an improvement. I used the paper reinforcements just as pretty much everyone and as a background I chose Jesse's Girl in Firefly. The other color I picked was Ace by Nabi. It comes off red/coral in pictures but it is actually a raspberry pink. I am in love with the shade and it was opaque with one coat. Did I mention it was only $1?

Stripes and Dots

Hello :)
This is a manicure I did for a YouTube V-Day Collaboration. RobinMoses and ProfessionalDQ came up with this idea and JaeMarie2008 invited me to join. I figured I would do something extremely simple because many times we do not have the time to do an extremely fancy V-day manicure.  I used Flower Pink by Santee as a base, for the stripes a white striper and for the dots acrylic white paint.
Here is the video:

Pink and Flowers (Plate m02)

Hello my dear readers!
What I am showing you today is a nail design I AM IN LOVE WITH! I love pink, flowers, shimmer, and I miss spring time. Also, this was my first time trying out BornPrettyStore nail plates. If you read THIS POST you know that I received a prize from one of Marta's giveaways (ChitChatNails.com). I am so happy with the quality and the design variety, I just jumped in with one coat of Freshcover 851, one coat of Sinful Colors Forget Now. Then I stamped with plate m02 using Konad White polish... I love this manicure, I think pink is my color :)

Sally Hansen Gem Crush 'Lady Luck' Swatch

The name of the line says it all GEM CRUSH. Many glitter shapes and sizes, gorgeous holographic effect with tons of shimmer and shine. The only concern I have is that it chips easily even with a base and top coat. I don't mind that because it is really worth it and I love it regardless of the chipping aspect :).

Sinful Colors 'Easy Going' + Nail Art

Hello!
I wore this manicure for a couple of days and I really loved the simplicity of it. I started with 2 coats of Easy Going by Sinful Colors. Then, I drew some simple flowers using Flower Pink by Santee. I added dots as you see, using my dotting tool and Glorious Gold by Americana (acrylic paint).
I hope you try it.

Rocker Girl

The polishes featuring in this manicure are:
Los esmaltes utilizados en este manicure son:
  • Flower Pink by Santee
  • Black Expressionism by Finger Paints
  • Secret Admirer by Sinful Colors
  • Microbeads from Michael's

My inspiration came from wanting to use a bright pink and black. I really like how it looks and makes your nails look interesting. It is funny because when I had my hands on something dark, my nails looked short, it is very playful.

Take care,
Carol

Warriors in Pink

A few years ago, I was about 17 years old, I went with my mom to the doctor because it was time for her yearly mammogram. She got it done and the front office lady told her that she would call home once the results were in so my mom could go pick them up. No biggie. About ten days after that day, someone called home and it was for my mom. She had to go back to the clinic and get a new mammogram because there was a "spot" on the one she had gotten done. It was scary for me and my family, I cannot imagine how my mom truly felt. My mom had to go through several sets of exams in order to truly detect what the "spot " was. Thank God, it had just been a machine error. Only a mistake. I was so happy that the results came out negative and I was brought back to life. After that incident, my mom is always on time to get her check-ups and I am aware of what to do when my time comes to start getting my check-ups.

It is October, well, we are almost done with this month and you might already know where this is going. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that is why we see a lot of pink everywhere. Cancer is a horrible condition and I believe that no one in this world in the right mind is willing to one day get it. I am fortunate enough that there is no breast cancer history in my family, I feel blessed. However, that does not mean that one day, God forbids, one of my family members or myself might get this catastrophic disease.
I cannot stress enough how prevention is the best policy. The issue then is, how do I prevent getting cancer? Talk to your doctor, get a mammogram, live a healthy life, do regular check ups on your own... In case the mammogram shows something, early detection does make a difference. Get educated, become empowered and aware, love your life, family and friends. If you or someone in your family is fighting against cancer, my prayers are with you and with all of those who have lost a mother, a sister, a friend, a wife...

Let's be the change we want to see.

I have worn pink nail polish and my pink gladiators throughout this month because whether or not we have been affected by cancer, we should all be warriors in pink!

Pink October: Classic Princess

Ciao!
Before I start, I LOVE how this manicure turned out! I must say that I was half-way done with it and I went to grab my dotting tool (great idea, Carol)... I messed up two of my nails because the polish was still tacky; I was going to fix them and in the process, I ruined two other ones. Yes, I was upset, but I loved the color combination and I did not mind doing the mani again.
I started by adding an even coat of Pearly Pink by Nabi. I did not need a second coat because it was pretty opaque with only one. After it dried, I did a French tip using Silver Pearl by Kleancolor - I did apply two coats of that one. With Hallucinate by WnW, I gave my tips more shimmer. I liked the addition of a different glitter, it is not noticeable in the pictures, but when you see it in person it looks quite nice. Lastly, I added some dots on the bottom part of my nails. Yeah, Classic Princess mani??? The color combination and the elegance reminded me of a fairy tale...

Bright Pink Manicure

I had had a Santee nail polish sitting around for a while but the color is so bright that I did not know how to use it. To start off, the name of the polish is Pink Flower and it is a neon pink. The polish itself has a nice formula and I only used one coat to achieve full coverage. I hope you like it!

Apply one coat of a light pink polish (Glass Pink by Sinful Colors).

Do a side swipe with a neon pink (Flower Pink by Santee).

Do the other side with black (Black Creme by WnW).

Add dots and rhinestones. Doesn't it look neat on short nails? Imagine it on longer nails!
Agrega puntos y piedritas. No se ve lindo en uñas cortas? Imagínalo en uñas un poco más largas!
