Week 11: St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Hello!
This is a very easy St. Patrick's Day manicure. I wish I had done something more special, but I don't have much time nowadays... On to the mani, I started with a coat of Finger Paints 'Black Expressionism' and on top, I layered with 2 coats of WnW 'Teal of Fortune'. I loved how it looked black in the shade, and with good lighting it was a beautiful green. I then stamped using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in 'Silver Sweep' with the shamrock from plate m71.
How do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
Éste manicure del día de San Patricio es demasiado fácil. Me hubiese gustado hacer algo más especial, pero ahora ya no cuento con tanto tiempo. Empecé con una capa de 'Black Expressionism' de la marca Finger Paints y encima apliqué 2 capas de WnW 'Teal of Fortune'. En la sombra se veía negro y con buena luz, refleja un verde muy lindo. Para el trébol use la plaquita m71 con el esmalte 'Silver Sweep' de Sally Hansen.

Week 8: Corset Mani

I love corsets and the sexy look they give... However, I hated the corset look on my nails. It is not right... I won't even try to say I like it because I'd be lying. I did this twice, and yeah... Sorry for the short post, I am just a little upset the mani did not turn out as I wanted it to...

Happy New Year (Special Thanks & New Facebook Page)

I did this manicure using Finger Paints 'Black Expressionism' with a coat of Sinful Colors 'Secret Admirer' on top and then I stamped it with BM-206 and Konad special white. I just want to wish you all a great 2012 filled with happiness, love, success and nail polish! I would like to thank all my viewers and subscribers. I look back to June '11 and I remember uploading my first post, I never thought I would get feedback and viewers from all over the world... It really makes me happy inside. Hice éste manicure usando Finger Paints 'Black Expressionism'con una capa de Sinful Colors 'Secret Admirer'encima y después estampé con el platillo BM-206 y con el esmalte blanco especial de Konad. Quiero desearles un año nuevo lleno de felicidad, amor, éxito y muchos esmaltes de uñas! Me gustaría agradecerles a todos mis visitantes y seguidores, recuerdo en junio de éste año cuando publiqué mi primer entrada y no imaginé recibir tanta aceptación de tantas personas de todo el mundo. Me hacen realmente feliz. Espero sigan conmigo a través de todos los años que vienen...

My First Half-Moon Manicure

Hello!

I attempted a half moon manicure for the first time today. I really like the outcome and I hope you do too.

I used hole reinforcements for paper as stencils (I bought them at a local discount store). The polishes I used are Figure of Art by Finger Paints and Lincoln Center by NYC. For embellishments I used a 2mm yellow rhinestone and copper beads from Michaels. The video tutorial will be at the end of this post.

Hola! Éste es mi primer intento de unas uñas de media luna. Me gustó mucho el resultado y espero que a ti también te guste. Usé protectores de hojas de papel como guías (los compré en una tienda local). Los esmaltes que usé son Figure of Art de Finger Paints y Lincoln Center de NYC. Para adornar usé una piedrita de 2mm en color amarillo y microcuencas cobrizas de Michaels. El video de éste tutorial estará al final de ésta entrada.

Rainbow Animal Print

These are pictures of one of my favorite manicures: rainbow + zebra print = perfection! I cannot stress enough how in love I am with my mani right now. It is also one of my mom's favorites. My inspiration came from wanting to use a bright pink and black. I really like how it looks and makes your nails look interesting. It is funny because when I had my hands on something dark, my nails looked short, it is very playful.
Mi inspiración vino porque quise mis uñas con rosado fuerte y negro. Me gusta como se ve y le da un efecto interesante a las uñas. Es chistoso porque cuando ponía mis manos sobre algo oscuro mis uñas parecían ser cortas, es versátil.

Flowers: Purple and Silver

This nail tutorial is my contest entry to Nailsbyyou, a channel on YouTube. I will leave the step by step tutorial so you can attempt it.
Éste tutorial de uñas es mi entrada al concurso de Nailsbyyou, un canal en YouTube. Dejaré aquí el paso a paso para que ustedes lo intenten.

Start with 2 coats of a lavender polish. I used Finger Paints in Lavender Highlight.
Empieza con 2 capas de un esmalte lavanda. Usé Lavender Highlight de Finger Paints.

Add some sheen using a sheer purple polish. In my case it is Wild Card by Wet n Wild.
Agrega brillo con un esmalte morado no cubriente. En mi caso es Wild Card de Wet n Wild.

Using a dotting tool and a silver polish (Kleancolor's Pearly Silver), draw a flower.
Con un puntero y usando un color plateado (Pearly Silver de Kleancolor) dibuja una flor.

Dot black polish to make the center of your flower.
Coloca un puntito negro en el centro de tu flor.

Draw some loops with silver and fill in gaps with black dots. Add a top coat.
Dibuja espirales con plateado y llena espacios con puntitos negros. Aplica un protector.

Orange and Black

Hola!

I had the urge to try my Wet n Wild nail polish in 9.0.2.1.Orange, which is a gorgeous microglittery orange. I also wanted to give it some edge and I believe that my mani came out looking a little Halloween-i but I am sure it will work with any color combo in either short or long nails.. For the black nail polish, I used Black Expressionism by Finger Paints. I hope you enjoy it and try it!
Tuve la necesidad de probar mi esmalte de Wet n Wild en el color 9.0.2.1.Orange, el cual es un anaranjado con miles de brillos pequeñitos. También quise agregarle un poco de dramatismo y creo que mi manicure termino siendo un poco relacionado a Halloween, pero igual funciona con cualquier color en uñas cortas o largas. Para el esmalte negro, utilicé Black Expressionism de Finger Paints. Espero les guste y lo intenten!

Butterfly Wings

Ciao!

Today I did 2 manicures. The first one turned out really ugly and uninspired so I had to do my nails again. I was not finding inspiration, so I started looking up different nail designs on YouTube and on different blogs I follow. I came across one that had butterfly wings and it was beautiful; I just had to recreate it. As I kept looking, I realized many people have the same design so this was not my idea, I don't know whose idea it was. What matters is that I took off the ugly manicure I had at the beginning.

El día de hoy me hice dos manicures. El primero me pareció feo y sin inspiración, así que me lo quité. No encontraba nada nuevo que hacerme, así que opté por buscar algo en YouTube y en los blogs que sigo. Encontré uno que tenía alas de mariposa, era muy lindo y sentí la necesidad de hacerlo. Seguí buscando más diseños similares y me dí cuenta que ya varias personas tenían el mismo patrón de líneas y diseño, por eso no sé de quién es la idea inicialmente. Lo que importa es que me quité el diseño horrible que me hice antes.

• Base and Top Coats
• Psychedelic by LA Girls Disco Brites
• PA12 Black by Kiss Brush On Nail Art
• Black Expressionism by Finger Paints
• 07 White Tip by Sally Hansen

1. Apply 2 coats of yellow nail polish (Psychedelic).
Empieza con dos capas de esmalte amarillo (Psychedelic).

2. Start doing a pattern with a black nail art polish (it doesn't need to be like this).
Continúa con un patrón de líneas en color negro (no tiene que ser así como este).

 
This will be your skeleton -well, the beginning of the wing ;) .
Ésto será tu esqueleto - bueno, será el inicio del ala ;) .

3. Fill out the tip with black polish.
Rellena la punta con un esmalte negro.

4. Dot the tip with white.
Haz puntitos blancos en la punta.

5. The end!
Terminamos!

• Base coat and Top Coat  (Endurecedor y Protector de esmalte)

1. Apply 2 coats of the gold color.
Aplica 2 capas del color dorado.

2. With the light pink polish, create round-ish shapes.
Con el color rosado pálido, haz figuras casi redondas (manchitas).

3. With a nail art nail polish, outline the light pink spots just created.
Con un esmalte negro para decorar, delinea las manchitas rosadas que acabas de crear.

 
4. Apply a top coat.
Aplica un protector de esmalte.

5. We're done!
Hemos terminado!
